Running redhat 9, version 5.0.1.5,
Ran openprotect-uninstall, then installed 5.0.1.7. It started fine, but
once I made any changes to Mailscanner.conf and restarted openprotect, I
started getting messages that spamassassin was timing out. Mail
wouldn't process any further, and it would just sit in the queue. I
tried reinstalling, then uninstalling and reinstalling. Same problem as
before - as soon as I restarted openprotect spamassassin would time out.
I ended up reinstalling 5.0.1.5.
Here is the current top:
Mem: 254724k av, 216060k used, 38664k free, 0k shrd, 41244k
buff
160552k actv, 20844k in_d, 3584k in_c
Swap: 522104k av, 77392k used, 444712k free 23592k
cached
I noticed after I installed 5.0.1.7, almost all physical memory was in
use, and about 256 meg of swap was in use. Does the new version require
more memory than I have?

Subject: [Opencomputing-openprotect] OpenProtect-5.0.1.7 released
Hi,
OpenProtect version 5.0.1.7 has been released. You can download
the latest OpenProtect and Kaspersky from
http://www.opencompt.com/demo.html.
To upgrade to this version, please run openprotect-uninstall to
uninstall the older version. The uninstall process takes a backup of
your configuration files and rulesets under /var/openprotect-backup.
Then, follow the installation instructions found at
http://opencompt.com/demo.html. During the installation of the new
version, the installer will ask whether to migrate the backed up
rulesets and configuration files from the previous setup. Note that the
file /etc/MailScanner/MailScanner.conf alone will not be restored in
this step, as more options are added to MailScanner.conf in the newer
versions. So, you should manually configure the settings in
MailScanner.conf for the new install.
Note that you need not answer Yes to this questions if you haven't used
any rulesets for SpamAssassin or MCP.
We urge all Qmail users and users of postfix > 2.0 should update to this
version.
