The core is working the same, regardless what kind of adapter you are using. This makes it easy to mix adapters (zone/dns, dns/zone) and easily switch adapters. We could maintain different structures for different adapters, but this comes with more code, more checks and this will become even worse if we implement new adapters in the future. In other words, we would like to keep the work to do in the core of the signer the same, regardless of what kind of adapters are in use.
