I just built and installed libtool 1.5 from GNU, but I'm a bit confused.
The DX configure process seems to create its own libtool in DXROOT??

You may wish to upgrade to libtool 1.5. It solves all kinds of MacOS X questions. This does sound like a parser problem. I haven't used 1.875, I currently use 1.75 without any problems. Our grammar is correct, you may try downgrading it and see what happens.
