I'm confused.

Do you just want authentication services in your DMZ?
Or are you using OpenFiler services in your DMZ?

Authentication is always the detail you want to secure the most.
It makes sense to have it on a dedicated server with only limited
ports exposed for it and nothing else.

Microsoft's meshing of all sorts of Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
services on a Kerberos Distribution Center (KDC) is why
ActiveDirectory Services (ADS) is considered _impossible_ to secure.
