Got it, When looking in the logs the service can not find the module iscsi_trgt. so i manually tried to point to its with depmod and it still wouldn't take it how ever on the console i got symbol errors. when checking what kernel i was running i realized that it was defaulting to SMP as my dev box is a dual xeon. So I booted of with the single processor kernel and the iscsi service starts normally now.
