I have just installed version rPath Linux 2.3beta r1377-1-1. I am trying to update it to the latest build by doing a conary update openfiler. I have even tried conary update conary, and tried to launch the update process from the web gui. I get the following message from the command line: Error occurred opening repository http://conary.rpath.com/conary/: Connection timed out I can resolve the address so it is not a dns or connectivity issue.
Also I had a couple of weird things. I installed the beta on an HP DL360G4p. It did not set grub up correctly and I had to manually change where grub was looking for the initrd image. And I do not know how much people are using this in the enterprise but I am having issues hooking this up to and EMC Clariion CX700. The only way I have been able to get it to work is to take all but one path away from each disk and present it out that way. So if I have a path failure/Switch failure/or SP failure on my storage system and the lun has to roll I will not have access to it in the current setup. Does Openfiler support MPIO or can I simply load EMC's linux pathing software on this? (have not tried the latter, powerpath usually only goes onto enterprise linux distributions.) What I am really trying to do is use OpenFiler to front end a spare CX700 that I have to provide ISCSI/NFS to a farm of 5 VMware ESX host. This is a legacy VM farm and I do not need it to perform all that well. So I was trying to free up some SAN ports by moving this service over to Ethernet. I do not wish to buy an EMC Celerra gateway product since just to license NFS/CIFS was almost 6 figures and that did not include the data movers in the cabinet. Is there anyone else out there that has done this hooked up to a Clariion? Thanks and sorry for the long winded email. It looks like I'm running kernel 2.6.22.13-0.2.6.smp.gcc3.4.x86_64.
