Hi Masa, the OpenFlow tutorial is mainly for OpenFlow switch in virtual 
machine. Is it applicable to the real topology. This is because I did not use 
Mininet. For the NetFPGA, i installed version 3.0.1. Is OpenFlow switch 1.0 
compatible to it? Thank you!

Rebecca,

It doesn't matter. You can run tcpdump on either machine.
Save the tcpdump file (use option -s0 to capture the entire packet) and open it 
with OpenFlow wireshark to see what is wrong. 
I really recommend to go through OpenFlow Tutorial..
