partially yes, but full support is in latest development version
    (which we call trunk)

note that you have to have the same version of indexer, web
    application
AND you need to _rebuild indexes from scratch_, we sometimes change
    them and we don't upgrade indexes and this usually is the case for
    most new versions (and especially for development version)
