I choose the HL7 initiative for terminology: lots of people, lots of
resources, lots of experience, and very close to the domain.  I'm sure
it can be improved upon, but it ain't broke...  Well, it ain't broke
unless it has proprietary hooks, but if there are proprietary hooks they
have to do with proprietary nomenclatures (nomenclatura's).  The issue
of proprietary nomenclatures (SNOMED, CPT, etc.) is one that is going to
have to be addressed, but for some reason it doesn't worry me.
