Maybe. But consider that many large organisations and government departments have a
stupid rule which goes something like "you can
use any database as long as it's Oracle". The cost of this alone in the history of
building (low) quality information systems must
be incalculable.
The cost of another language is likely to be much less than the cost of using the
wrong language (or development tools in general)
for the task. If one solution really does work for all problems, then you are lucky.
