Funny thing is, before I did my informatics fellowship at Yale, I ran an
occupational medicine dept. for a large Phila. hospital. I did expert
medical exams at the request of the city's Medical Director for municipal
employees injured in the line of duty, including police, fire, streets, and
of all things, COURT employees.

The determination in Philadelphia court that I did not have expert knowledge
of medicine or medical informatics was itself a symptom of a court system
that does not operate in any rational manner, and that our society is moving
towards the Middle Ages intellectually (the Sokal Affair being the best
example of that to date).
