Hi Brian,
If you add an entry that describes your new EuSpirit project to the OIO Library,
that may help people discover your site.
You don't need my permission to do that, you can simply go the the OIO Library at
www.TxOutcome.Org and add that record yourself.
I see that we are approaching the construction of our databases in very different
ways. You see "adding a link to LinuxMedNews" on the EuSpirit site as benefiting
LinuxMedNews. In order for Ignacio to get you to correct your "oversight", he had to
send you a pretty biting message in public. Its pretty unconvincing that this is an
innocent oversight. If indeed this is an oversight, it is yet another reason for you
to invite and even consider paying for quality peer-review!!! :-)
In contrast, the OIO Library welcomes anyone to add project descriptions and links.
We see "adding a link to EuSpirit" as an act that benefits our community. In order for
anyone to add EuSpirit to the OIO Library, all you have to do is point-and-click. You
don't have to threaten, bribe, or embarass us. If you need Editorial support
afterwards, you can click on the <Editorial Request> link - and we will gratefully
service your request.
You see Brian - when you said that you are going to add a link to LinuxMedNews'
Project List - do you know what that URL is? Do you even bother to ask? How are you
going to handle the updating of information in your projects and links database?
These are all problems that we have already begun to solve with the OIO Library.
Maybe we have even come up with solutions that can help you. That is why I have been
trying so hard to offer you help.
Do you know what I am offering?
Is it that you are just not interested?
Is it that you prefer to quietly copy and reverse-engineer without giving credit as
Joseph dal Molin suggested?
Maybe you just prefer public embarassment?
By prefering to work in isolation, you only engender suspicion and distrust. I am
trying to help you by asking questions. When you see pointed and direct questions as
"distractions", "accusations", and even "hostility" with "hidden agenda", you
sacrifice your credibility as a interested participant in our community.
When the questions stop, that's when we have given up on you. Don't let that happen.
I remain very puzzled,
Anderw
