I ran into that already on my copy of OI, which is just a VirtualBox VM to play
with.

Downloading
http://dlc.openindiana.org/isos/hipster/20210430/OI-hipster-gui-20210430.iso
<http://dlc.openindiana.org/isos/hipster/20210430/OI-hipster-gui-20210430.iso>
adding that as a CD/DVD image to the VM, booting that, importing the zpool from
the disk image, using beads to activate the last good BE, exporting the zpool,
and after that it booted ok again.

BTW, openindiana.org <http://openindiana.org/> was erroring on https, so I was
fortunate that the image I needed was available via http (the main page
redirects http to https). I found the link I needed via archive.org
<http://archive.org/>, but downloading the image there was ridiculously slow,
so I tried the link directly, and it worked.
