In regard to: [OpenIndiana-discuss] meld tool/utility is broken, Predrag...:
x: float | None = None, TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for |: 'type' and 'NoneType'
I think it may be this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/76712720/typeerror-unsupported-operand-types-for-type-and-nonetype Both meld's web site and meld's gitlab page says it only requires Python 3.4.7 or later, but that "type | None" syntax is apparently a Python 3.10+ thing. The first answer on the stackoverflow site has a couple of workarounds involving other modules. You might try hack your copy to use one of them, to see if that fixes it. I don't know for certain if this will work, assuming you have other python runtimes installed, you could instead try something like /usr/bin/python3.14 /usr/bin/meld file1.xml file2.xml to see if the problem goes away.
