Hi Matt, RedHat's enterprise linux 4 update 4 does not have the most recent IPMI drivers that would support SMBus (one type of our Intel motherboards uses this); it's missing the ipmi_smb.ko module. RHEL5 beta 2 doesn't have the more recent updates either. In addition, RH also uses an older OpenIPMI library 1.4.17.
The patches available from openipmi.sf.net does not include one for this particular kernel release (2.6.9). The patches are for more recent kernel versions. Thus requiring some form of backporting. We don't want to spend so much time backporting this (and in a few months RH provides an update); or worst, after backporting, it doesn't work. Any ideas? Are there any rpm package for this drivers that I can just install?
