Do you have the proj definition for EPSG:5234 in the project? (It is not
a default projection so you will need to include explicitly).
If so, then its hard to beat just stepping through with firebug. The
first thing would be see whether a features object in returned from the
GML parser. That tells you whether GML is being parsed okay.
