SebastianWagner commented on OPENMEETINGS-494:
----------------------------------------------
The screensharing has a fps of 2. Setting the resulting recording to anything
else then 2 fps will not improve the picture as the raw material has only 2 fps.
The mixed audio comes from the video pods, however the picture issue taken from
the screnshare.
It is unlikely that we will change the fps as more fps will require more
bandwidth which will the recording practically not useful for the majority.
Also with 2 fps youshould hardly see any frames missing except your are
supernatural. The human eye can't see a difference by around 12 fps. However on
a monitor you don't have so many changing areas that you can see a difference
at all, even at 2 fps. You would need to show a video in the monitor while
recording, then I guess you could see sth. However that is also not the primary
use case for us.

> Recording gives frame rate of 2 fps

> Key: OPENMEETINGS-494
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENMEETINGS-494
> Project: Openmeetings
> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: 2.1 Apache Incubator Release
> Environment: CentOS 6 and Ubuntu 12.04 servers, Macbook pro and
> Windows 7 clients. Flash 11.5.502.13x, Java 1.6.something on both server and
> client
> Reporter: Mikael Kurula
> Priority: Critical
>
> When I record with any quality except for "very high quality", I get a frame
> rate of only about 2 fps. When I use the "very high quality", my video plays
> back at a higher frame rate, but it seems a lot of frames are missing, so in
> practice the video plays back approximately 5-10 times too fast.
> I am using recommended versions of both swftools and ffmpeg, but I don't
> think it's an ffmpeg issue, since already the raw .flv stream fed to ffmpeg
> has broken frame rate.
> This effectively prevents me from using openmeetings in my work.
