1) there is no derby.log created. There is no openmeetings folder in red5/ 2) the error looks the same if no persistence.xml is found 3) same error with latest OpenJPA as well (after putting the original persistence.xml back :)) Maybe this is a bit late now anyway, since I've seen you seem to have found something with the order in which things are being loaded that can cause problems?
