No, I'm not recommending against using rfkill. If you want to suppress RF transmission in a reliable way, e.g., because you're on a plane or about to enter an ICU, rfkill is a good choice. I'm only saying that there are better choices than rfkill if you're looking for a power saving mechanism. - Werner
