There was a discussion about this later in the vote thread:
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/incubator-general/201111.mbox/%[email protected]%3E
It looks like we should change it to be compliant with the branding
requirements.
They are here:
http://apache.org/foundation/marks/pmcs.html#adjective
I think we need to reformulate our brief one sentence description.
Currently it is:
"OpenNLP is a machine learning based toolkit for the processing of
natural language text. "
Any ideas what we should write instead?

I can only tell they aren't using English.
It's kinda like saying 'I' is a verb and not a pronoun.

I'm just curious, why this:
"OpenNLP should be used as an adjective, not a noun."
It doesn't feel like adjective to me :) Can a native speaker comment on
this remark?

Hi all,
please review and vote on approving the release of Apache OpenNLP.
OpenNLP is a machine learning based toolkit for the processing of natural
language text.
OpenNLP should be used as an adjective, not a noun.
It supports the most common NLP tasks, such as tokenization, sentence
segmentation,
part-of-speech tagging, named entity extraction, chunking, parsing, and
coreference resolution.
We addressed a couple of issues in this release:
- Removed UIMA from the NOTICE file
- Added a tar.gz source distribution
- Removed files that are not in SVN from source distribution
- Added API documentation about the OpenNLP Chunker
The OpenNLP community approved the release of opennlp-1.5.2-rc5 in this
vote
thread
with 4 binding votes and we received no 0 or -1 votes:
