If a DB connection is required, that might be part of the problem.  Did you
notice this error message I posted earlier?

  Error: can't retrieve data from the OpenNMS Database because null *

The opennms application is running fine, so I'm not sure what the source of
that error is.  Strange..

That's not the only duplicate I can see (unless I'm mis-understanding
something).
