Spen, Thanks for all your help with this. I've reviewed your patches on gerrit and am just about to start using my eclipse/gdb/openocd/cmsis-dap setup in anger so will report back how I get on.
All seems usable at this point - flashing, BPs, stepping over/in/out, variables, registers (not tried watches yet) - a couple of minor issues. Stepping is rather slow. gdb startup is OK - takes about 10 secs from launch including flashing (short test prog). Instruction step takes around a second, so a 'c' step over multiple instructions can take 5-6 secs. Is this normal? SWD_CLK is running at 17kHz(!). Setting adapter_khz appears to have no effect. I'm seeing read errors during debug but this looks like gdb configuration to me as it's trying to read 0x20006000 which is just outside the KL46Z256VLL4's RAM range of 0x1FFFE000-0x20005FFF.
