I do tend to agree that at first glance the labels returned by gerrit can be seen as negative to a newcomer. This is what happened to me when I first pushed a patch to android and that is what I received, my first thoughts were the same as the users you have spoken to on IRC. I have no issues with changing the message to something else - suggestions? We will of coarse have to update our gerrit instance, but I have been meaning to that anyway.
