Unfortunately not. Gerrit's UI is strange and the commenting functions are
not convenient to use for long comments, preformatted text (i.e. code
snippets) or quoted replies. Which pretty much makes it awkward to use for
its main functions.

I suggest, if you have a long reply, that you simply score and type a short
reply in Gerrit, referring to a more verbose conversation that you can send
to this mailing list (CC to the patch author). Include the Gerrit URL in
the mail.

If you feel like it, complain to the developers of Gerrit that their UI
sucks (in a diplomatic way, of course).
