Hello again (; Let's get back to this interesting topic (; Today I wanted to build OpenOCD directly from git. So I wanted to clone the main repo. For almost every repo which I ever tried this takes like 30 seconds. For extremely huge projects (like gcc) - maybe a few minutes. And here I am - cloning OpenOCD's repo from sourceforge for at least 20 minutes now and it is still in the "remote: Counting objects: 36872" phase... I guess it will timeout before it finishes, which is also a problem reported by others:
