I'm not sure that you have to adjust the scripts at all?
E.g. this shows how to target that device using jlink.

https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors/How-to-JTAG-debug-iMX8mq/m-p/837227

If your board includes an FTDI interface for debugging then presumably the
second and third scripts that you list might work?

What did you try so far and how did it go?

The openocd user manual explains what target, board and interface scripts do.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [OpenOCD-devel] Support for IMX8QM

Hello list,

I'am interested to get a imx8qm based board supported by openocd.

After a bit of research I found that there is a similar NXP CPU imx8m
which is already supported somehow.

tcl/target/imx8m.cfg
tcl/board/nxp_mcimx8m-evk.cfg
tcl/interface/ftdi/imx8mp-evk.cfg

what do I have to adjust on these cfg to get my board working?
which information from reference manual is needed?

Best regards,

Oliver
