Hi all, I’m working on a project that makes heavy use of hierarchical JTAG networks (IEEE 1838-2019, with PTAP/STAP structures and an internal IJTAG network), and I’m looking at how best to integrate this with OpenOCD.
I was wondering if there are any current plans or roadmap items to add more native support for IEEE 1838-2019 concepts in OpenOCD—for example, explicit modeling of PTAP/STAP hierarchies, 3DCR-style control registers, or IJTAG-style segment insertion—beyond what can already be scripted via irscan /drscan and custom Tcl infrastructure. If there is already work in progress (or prior discussion I should read through), I’d really appreciate any pointers to design docs, mailing list threads, or branches. And if there isn’t anything concrete yet, I’d be interested in understanding what you would consider “in scope” for a potential contribution in this area.
