The OpenSA Project team is pleased to announce the release of version
1.0.0b2 of our Open Source package for Win32. This new version
incorporates several changes and bugfixes to the package.
This Apache package provides a full implementation of Apache and it's
commonly used extension modules for the Win32 plattform, which means
both Windows 9x and Windows NT and Windows 2000.
The OpenSA package is based on Apache, the worlds famous Web Server,
mod_ssl, the Apache Interface to OpenSSL by Ralf S. Engelschall, and
OpenSSL, the Open Source SSL/TLS toolkit, which is based on SSLeay
from Eric A. Young and Tim J. Hudson.
The most significant changes are:
o Upgrade to PHP 4.0.3
o Includes ColdFusion Apache module
o Upgrade to mod_ssl 2.7.2
o Upgrade to OpenSSL 0.9.6
o Complete rewrite of the installation system, based on
InstallShield 6.1, now finally supporting Windows 95, Windows 98,
Windows NT and Windows 2000.
As a summary, here are its main features:
o Open-Source software (BSD-style license)
o Useable for both commercial and non-commercial use
o Available for Win32 (Windows 95/98/NT/2000) platform
o 128-bit strong cryptography world-wide (SSLv2, SSLv3 and TLSv1)
o Full Visual Studio Makefile Support for all included packages
o Complete Auto Configuration with the InstallShield installation
o Comfortable Installation using InstallShield Professional and
PackageForTheWeb
o Full User and Developer Support
OpenSA version 1.0.0b2 is considered to be the best version of OpenSA
available and developers are encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible.
