I think it is limited to the GNU version of sleep included in GNU
coreutils. But I don't know if udev is used on a non GNU system since
udev is so tied to the Linux kernel. So it may be a valid solution.

The problem now is: what delay value to use? On a slow system 1 second
may not even be enough.
