earlier versions maybe had them, not sure.

I used: "find -name '*.[ch]' | xargs recode latin1..utf8" to convert
the OpenSC source code files.

while we are at it: should we use dos or unix line endings everywhere?

maybe some windows users can tell me how painful unix line endings are?
IIRC notepad doesn't like them, but write is ok with them (or the other way round?).
