Hi all,
As some of you may know there is a magical way of using the WBE
Infinity USB Unlimited (wbeiuu for short) card reader/smart card
programmer that does not use the current "stand by while work
progresses" OpenCT wbeiuu driver that I started developing (and failed
miserably) a while ago. The magic is to use the well-tried
smartmouse-phoenix driver over the linux device driver of the wbeiuu.

There are obvious advantages to do so the first one being that is
works, the second one being a devoted developer (Alain Degreffe) and
I'll stop here though one could go on and on.

Now the question is, I think, whether to ditch the native wbeiuu
driver from the OpenCT repository or not. Doing the former will remove
confusion to any user attempting to use the wbeiuu. On the other hand
a native OpenCT driver should in theory be platform independent. That
is, it should also work on MacOS, BSDs and other boxes which I think
is an important issue to consider.

Neither my involvement nor my commitment with the native driver will
change from the one I have showed in the recent months. Therefore it
is up to the "souls in charge" of the OpenCT/OpenSC project to ditch
it or not. Decission which I will abide to.

Cheers,
JC!
