But that requires root access. Could it be possible to add scanning to a 
directory behind user's home (~/.opensc/profiles/ could be a good 
candidate) and if a .profile is found, parse it instead of the "system 
wide" one? Just like many other toold so (openssh pops up in my mind :)).
