Yes, I figured the make system would break.  Dirk and I made some pretty 
significant changes to the ways defined symbols are (not) handled now.  
The embedded build is a bit more of a problem because we don't have 
access to the toolchain you are using so I can help out with that but I 
don't think I can do anything directly.
