Hi everybody.

As we're currently planning to simplify our build and install process,
we decided to build (K)Ubuntu-.deb-Packages of OpenSG (the first task
for our new student team member). Time to contribute some things back to
the community!

Some questions before we start:

* What configure options are used by the official daily builds? Although
we will build a special version (not using QT because of licensing,
using the gv-beta branch because of Rasmus' animation library etc...), I
think we should supply a build matching the rpm/windows versions (should
be possible with few extra efforts). Could someone please drop me the
corresponding ./configure-line?

* Although the rpms are "monolithic", I think that the .deb Packages
should go the more fine grained Debian way, so I would suggest to split
the packages into

libopensg-base
libopensg-system
libopensg-GLUT
libopensg-QT (maybe...)
libopensg-dev (headers)
libopensg-source

Comments on that?

* Unfortunately, we're quite short of server-bandwidth - does anybody
has a place where we can put the packages? (Allen?) In the long run, it
would be great to add them to the official Ubuntu repositories, but I
fear that this will take a while...

(K/X)Ubuntu and Debian users, give us feedback, so we can fit your needs
too...

Regards,
Dominik
