I would like to be a "heavy" user of collada in the future but for right
now we are still using our current pipeline. We don't have the time or
knowledge to implement the collada support though so it is a bit of a
chicken and an egg problem. Once OpenSG has extensive collada support I
am guessing we will switch over.

As far as animations go, that has always been something we have wanted
better support for in the scene graphs we use. If OpenSG could fill
this need using collada it could help us tremendously.

Maybe the question we should ask is:

- Who is willing to work on animation support in OpenSG with collada?

Simon: Is there any funding or engineering time available as part of the
project you are talking about? In other words, do you have anyone on
your team that could devote some time to this development with the
guidance of one of the OpenSG core team members? Or do you have any
funding that could just be used to pay one of the core team to add the
support that you need?

Sounds like a good idea to me.
