Works great for me. Seems to be a mlt related issue, have you tried version 0.4.6 ?

Selected rawvideo format and rawvideo codec. Export window showed the file being exported, and confirmed a successful export. However the console gave an error for each and every frame in the film: ............ consumer_avformat.c: error with video encode consumer_avformat.c: error with video encode consumer_avformat.c: error with video encode consumer_avformat.c: error with video encode consumer_avformat.c: error with video encode consumer_avformat.c: error with video encode consumer_avformat.c: error with video encode consumer_avformat.c: error with video encode ............. At the end I was left with a file kite.rawvideo which was empty with zero bytes.
