I've also noticed that unlinking and then applying texture changes and then relinking does seem to help, so I can confirm that one... However, I've also noticed that very often taking the entire linkset and re-rezzing it seems to force it into persistence as well...
Also, I've noticed that sometimes my root prim on a linkset exported from SL becomes a completely different prim when imported into OS... if I then unlink what *should be* the root prim, and then relink the linkset and the unlinked prim so the original SL root prim is the root prim again, the entire linkset becomes uneditable after doing so. Can't unlink prims.. can't change textures.. can't do anything with any prim in that linkset until I take it to inventory and re-rez it.
