Yes it crashes on Linux and they get the "program has stopped responding, do you want to terminate the process" on Windows. I'll have them generate the dump file, hadn't thought of that. On linux/unix systems, you can enable core dumps (ulimit -c unlimited). Then examine the core file in gdb the same way.
