I've also set up Partuza and Shindig on my Mac. The PHP bundled with
Mac OS X doesn't have the GD library compiled in (Partuza needs it).
You can install Marc Liyanage's PHP Apache module via it's nice
installer, and you should be able to then setup Partuza or Shindig
only as normal.

I'm currently having problems with Partuza or Shindig accessing
external URL's (e.g. gadget makeRequest on an RSS feed) but otherwise
they seem to be working.
