You can use your server to store xml files. Only it takes time at Orkut to get changes visible due to caching. You can see in your log files when Google started fetching your files. Solution is to create many files with different names. For initial testing I prefer Ning, where changes are available immediately. Only not all functionality currently available with Ning - viewer, owner and their friends looks working, only not showing their photos. Persitance API seems not working at all.
