I don't really know if there is any significance since both uniquely
identify an orkut user. It's possible that new IDs were put in place
due to constraints in the OpenSocial specification, but I wasn't able
to find any evidence to back this theory, so I'm afraid I don't have a
very good answer for you.

But the ID system is not likely to change so I wouldn't worry too much
about it. :)
