Putting AdSense in its own iFrame would technically work, but I believe this would put you in violation with the AdSense TOS. I had to use iframe a year or so ago to work around a problem, and fairly quickly, the AdSense robots contacted me requesting I do not use AdSense in an iframe (with clear dramatic consequences if I were not to follow the request).
I think the solution should come from some coordinated work between teams at Google. AdSense should clearly be the preferred monetization platform for apps on Orkut, so the relevance of ads needs to be improved.
