The project started with the goal to introduce ksh93 without adding any incompatibilities to existing ksh93 versions and you are proposing such a change against the counsel of both the project team and David Korn.

I think this these are clear words from someone who did lots of work and investigation on ksh93 in Solaris and I am supporting this decision.
