That can't be right, can it? Of course, that would be the correct approach in the old world of SVR4 packaging. But now that OpenSolaris and IPS (which has no package scripting) are in the picture one would think that we should minimize new uses of class action scripts (CAS). Now, perhaps the SFWNV gatekeepers and the IPS team are in touch and they agree that adding new CAS uses in SFWNV is OK -- after all it's only one more bit of work for the IPS folks to do to deal with this. What has this to do with ARC? As long as the gatekeepers and the IPS team agree on a way forward in such cases, then I think the answer is: nothing. But if they haven't discussed it, or haven't reached agreement yet, then I think the ARC may be interested in making sure that one is reached before approving of any more CAS uses. Nico --
