I seem to recall complaining about the name to the original submitter.   
I think there was some desire to retaining naming consistency with other 
operating systems.  I didn't care enough to argue about it. :-)

I'd have preferred "mxge" or possibly just "myri".  I *hate* it when 
people put numbers in the middle of their driver names.  Paricularly in 
names that will be exposed to users.   (So "ac97", which is a misc 
module is OK.  But "e1000g" is horrible.)
