Do you get that same result when you compile with Studio 11 ?

Rafael,

Either there is a gigantic memory leak somewhere in combination of the
onnv_74 compiled operating environment and Sun Studio 11, or Sun
Studio 12 should really really not be used to compile gates.

Do you have an aggressive DMAKE_MAX_JOBS (or setting for this
system in ~/.make.machines)? High parallelism is a good way to
exhaust memory on systems with limited memory, and it can take
only a modest increase in each compile job to amount to enough
to exhaust the system. Try tuning back to 4 or less and see
if the compile succeeds without running out of resource.
