It may be that it is no longer possible (at least not easily) to compile 
an application that is ABI compliant.  But that doesn't necessarily mean 
that the set of *legacy* ABI compliant applications don't work.

Btw, I know other operating systems (NetBSD at least, and I think Linux 
as well) support the SYSV ABI through some kind of compatibility layer.
