Thanks for this good URL on Chinese Font. > > He is currently involved in a project sponsored by > the Taiwan government to consolidate Chinese fonts > for open-source use. Great to know the open-source does get some funding from Goverment. the opensource project really need funding support to get started or sustain itself. > I have tried to encourage Mr. Firefly to spare some > of his expertise on S/OS, but it didn't go anywhere. > Perhaps he may be pursuaded if others (plural) from > m the S/OS camp also approach him? This is the problem of opensource work, it only get hobby level of priority. for most ppl, work, family and lastly hobby come last. I haven't really use S/OS's Chinese language features except seeing Chinese font display in FireFox on English version of S/OS. I have no bandwidth for TrupeType, bitmap of font technology terms for now. but if Firefly's chinese font is in src.rpm then it should be able to port to S/OS. tj This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
