I have three video outputs on mine: Panel/VGA/S-Video
I tried connecting an external monitor to the laptop and here is what I get - no video on the screen either - I removed the MonitorLayout and PanelSize options from the config before running: (II) RADEON(0): LVDS port is not in connector table, added in. (II) RADEON(0): Connector0: DDCType-5, DACType-1, TMDSType--1, ConnectorType-1 (II) RADEON(0): Connector1: DDCType-4, DACType-0, TMDSType--1, ConnectorType-2 (II) RADEON(0): DDC Type: 4, Detected Type: 0 (II) RADEON(0): (II) RADEON(0): Primary: Monitor -- LVDS Connector -- VGA DAC Type -- TVDAC/ExtDAC TMDS Type -- NONE DDC Type -- CRT2_DDC (II) RADEON(0): Secondary: Monitor -- NONE Connector -- Proprietary DAC Type -- Primary TMDS Type -- NONE DDC Type -- Unknown (II) RADEON(0): PLL parameters: rf=1432 rd=6 min=20000 max=40000; xclk=25000 (WW) RADEON(0): Failed to detect secondary monitor, MergedFB/Clone mode disabled It appears that it can't detect the external monitor which is powered on and connected to the VGA port on the laptop. The Monitor is an old 19" color Sun Monitor - I have no model number but it was manufactured in March of 1998 and has the old 13W3 connector on it.
