I have been told by one of the maintainers that there is a problem.
I believe that they did stop trying to fix this after cdrecord
has been included into Solaris.

If you use cdrecord, you will never get such a simple error message.
Instead you will see the exact reason for the failure.

I am sorry, but it is impossible to help if the program does not tell where the 
problem was.
